Millstream Paediatrics Individualised Dietitian Services
Individualised Assessment of your child’s nutritional needs: After a 60-90 minute personalised consultation to hear parent concerns and discuss any presenting medical and/or neurodevelopmental concerns nutritional gaps are identified and nutritional requirements considered.
Personalised Meal Plan: After the assessment consultation, a personalised meal plan is designed in consideration of family preferences, nutritional gaps, medical conditions (like diabetes or heart disease), and presenting barriers (e.g., neurodivergence, child unwillingness or other).
Feedback & Nutrition Education: Meeting with families to walk through the plan and trouble shoot issues and discuss strategies about how best to implement and overcome child resistences or other barriers to achieving the goals.
- Follow Up Appointments: The can include working with the child directly, or continuing to work with families to support specific conditions (e.g., food allergies, gastrointestinal disorders, obesity, etc.) to adapt plans, discuss progress and any new challenges.
Manage Medical Conditions: Ongoing liaison with the medical team and regular family check-ins. Sometimes this is providing information on new findings and research to support overall wellbeing.
- Nutritional Counselling: ongoing support and mentoring is available at any stage on an as required basis.
