Diagnostic Uncertainty?
Are you or a loved one struggling with symptoms that may be related to neurodivergence? Are you querying autism, ADHD, or learning difficulties? Do you find relationships or communication difficult? Is learning and focusing difficult? Unsure of how to understand, manage or explain these challenges?
Unclear symptoms can significantly impact daily life, causing frustration, confusion, and difficulty in personal, academic, or work-related settings. Without comprehensive assessment to guide support needs, these challenges may persist, affecting self-esteem, relationships, mental health and long-term success.
Millstream psychology specialises in neurodevelopmental assessment, follows national assessment guidelines and engages in comprehensive assessment processes, including daycare/school visits.
Social-Emotional Wellness
Is your child struggling to self-regulate and demonstrating impulsive behaviours like lashing out? Do you find it difficult to manage their emotions or behaviours? Are these issues affecting your relationships with them?
If your child is having trouble controlling their emotions and is acting impulsively, like lashing out, it can be really challenging. You might also be finding it hard to manage their behavior and emotions, which could be impacting your relationship with them.
You’re not alone in this—many parents face similar struggles. It’s important to find effective ways to help your child manage their emotions and behavior. Together, we can work on strategies to support your child and improve your relationship with them..
Mental health Vulnerability?
Are you struggling to know if difficulties are best attributed to mental health or neurodivergence?
Broad screening for both mental health problems as well as neurodivergence can help with understanding feelings of overwhelm and dispair.
We contact school and other allied health professionals to better understand what may be going on for your child.

The Austim Spectrum Disorder (ASD) National Assessment Guidelines were updated in 2023. Under the new guidelines, a Millstream Psychology Clinical Psychologist can provide a Lead Practioner Diagnostic Evaluation in collaboration with a Paediatric Medical Practitioner when there are no presenting diagnostic complexities. When complex assessment considerations exist, a consensus team, including a Speech Pathologist, will be initiated.
Under the Better Access Initiative, you can choose any Psychologist you wish to engage in services with, despite whom the GP has addressed the referral to.
